Safe-T-Kote M22W Exterior and M37 Interior anti-slip coatings are two part, polyurethane compounds containing rubber granules from recycled automobile tires. Designed for application on concrete, wood and many other substrates, Safe-T-Kote is extremely resistant to impact, abrasion, and attack by acid solutions, fresh and salt water and many chemicals. Global temperature extremes have no effect on Safe-T-Kote. The product is applied by roller or spray.
Safe-T-Kote M22W has a tensile strength of 4000 psi., M37 is 5000 psi., and yet both products remain flexible enough to bridge hairline cracks which may develop in concrete. Applied as directed, Safe-T-Kote will withstand years of traffic and weathering with no need for repeated applications. M22W is an exterior coating with added UV protectant. M37 is the interior, heavy duty industrial version. The urethane compounds used to manufacture both coatings were designed to penetrate and bind the rubber granules, causing them to become part of the cured membrane. The granules will not dislodge from the coating as is often the case when silica sand or aluminum oxide is used as the frictional component. We have chosen rubber from recycled automobile tires because of it's durability. A century of research has been devoted to improving the toughness and longevity of tire rubber. Availability, reasonable cost and a way to help solve an environmental problem were also key factors influencing our decision to use this material. Safe-T-Kote is approved by Agriculture Canada and Health Canada for use in food processing plants. Lactic and acetic acid solutions have no effect on this coating. Safe-T-Kote exceeds FMVSS flammability requirements by self-extinguishing. Safe-T-Kote is easily cleaned using common detergents and a deck brush, flushed off with water and allowed to dry. Safe-T-Kote can be power washed repeatedly with no ill effects. Safe-T-Kote has no odour when cured and will not taint food or water. Safe-T-Kote is a long lasting protective surface offering a sure footing indoors and out. |
